“People didn’t realise they lived in the dark ages until somebody called it that”, will.i.am told a C-suite audience at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January, asking the question: “will our generation be known as the ‘inhumane age’?”.
will.i.am’s challenging comments came as he sat on a ManpowerGroup panel on digital leadership supported by Alpha Grid. It was moderated by the Financial Times’s U.S. Managing Editor, Gillian Tett and featured ManpowerGroup Chairman & CEO Jonas Prising, WPP Founder and CEO, Sir Martin Sorrell and CEO & Chairman of The Dow Chemical Company, Andrew Liveris.
The debate, which took place during a dinner, focussed on a challenging problem which is fast becoming a key concern for CEOs – how to lead in the digital age, and how to predict and manage talent in a world that is shifting rapidly towards robotics and automation.
Alpha Grid was honoured to work closely with ManpowerGroup and will.i.am’s i.am.angel Foundation through every stage of the dinner’s development; from conceptualisation to invitation management to production and content capture.
